Size Your WWW™ inDENSE™ Hydrocyclone System in Minutes

If you’re evaluating hydrocyclone wasting for a conventional activated sludge (CAS) system, one of the first things you need to nail down is the right system size for your application, meaning the number of cyclones and corresponding skid configuration. We’ve put together a free online sizing calculator that cuts that step down to a few input fields.

The tool lives at indense.worldwaterworks.com. Simply enter your maximum monthly wasting rate in GPD, your daily hours of operation and your WAS concentration in mg/L. The calculator returns a recommended WWW™ inDENSE™ configuration (2, 4, 5, 6 or 10-skid), along with a 3D viewer so you can check the physical footprint before you get into detailed design.

A Quick Refresher on WWW™ inDENSE™

Our WWW™ inDENSE™ system applies gravimetric sludge selection to your existing CAS process. Hydrocyclones use centrifugal force to separate your mixed liquor by density.  The denser flocs are driven to the cyclone wall and exit through the underflow back to your bioreactor, while lighter solids report to the overflow and are wasted. Over time, that selective pressure shifts your sludge population toward denser, faster-settling biomass.

This process lowers sludge volume index (SVI), improves clarifier performance, and promotes resilience during wet weather and cold-temperature events that typically destabilize settling. And, if you’re running enhanced biological phosphorus removal (EBPR), WWW™ inDENSE™ improves conditions for that process as well.

Because the system replaces or supplements your conventional WAS wasting rather than adding a new treatment step, WWW™ inDENSE™ integrates into your existing infrastructure without major civil work.

Where the Sizing Tool Fits in Your Workflow

If you’re doing a preliminary feasibility check or putting together a budgetary estimate, our calculator gives you a concrete system configuration without waiting on a vendor call. From there, you can submit your system requirements directly to our application engineers to develop a budgetary proposal.

No registration is required. Enter your operating parameters, get a configuration and decide whether it warrants a closer look.
