LP-MINION Low Pressure, Large Bubble Mixing System

LP-MINION low pressure, big bubble mixing technology is designed to support World Water Works' intensification technology suite. Delivering mixing performance for anaerobic, anoxic, equalization (EQ) and sludge storage tanks, LP-MINION provides improved mixing for media and densified activated sludge — all while improving overall treatment efficacy.

Using existing low-pressure air from your facility's blowers, this technology mixes tank contents without the need for mechanical mixers or high-pressure compressors. This design supports the placement of LP-MINION in strategic locations on the reactor floor to create an optimal, systematic mixing sequence with minimal settling.

How it works

LP-MINION creates a large bubble, effectively mixes the water column, keeping biosolids in suspension and preventing the formation of dead zones where sludge can accumulate. The large bubbles rise quickly, minimizing the surface area and contact time for oxygen transfer and maintaining anaerobic/anoxic environments for improved selector treatment process.

LP-MINION

Benefits

Energy Efficiency

  • Uses existing low-pressure air from on-site blowers
  • Leverages large bubble and rise rate principles for mixing
  • Reduces power consumption compared to mechanical mixers

Mixing Performance

  • Prevents the formation of dead zones
  • Ensures biosolids remain in suspension
  • Provides minimum contact time for oxygen transfer to ensure anaerobic and anoxic environments are maintained

Cost-Effective

  • Requires minimal maintenance
  • Its lower energy consumption reduces costs

Flexibility

  • Deployable with minimal infrastructure changes
  • Can be integrated into existing treatment plant designs
  • Suitable for various tank configurations and treatment applications

Versatile Applications

  • Anaerobic zones: Maintains uniform conditions for the breakdown of organic matter
  • Anoxic zones: Enhances denitrification by ensuring even nitrate distribution
  • EQ tanks: Prevents settling and ensures homogeneous influent characteristics
  • Sludge storage tanks: Keeps solids in suspension with minimal energy input
