World Water Works Launches Online Sizing Calculator for inDENSE™ Hydrocyclone Wasting System

Press Releases 2026-04-08

OKLAHOMA CITY, April 8, 2026 — World Water Works, a leading supplier of wastewater treatment solutions, has released a free online sizing calculator for its WWW™ inDENSE™ hydrocyclone wasting system, giving engineers a faster way to develop preliminary system configurations for conventional activated sludge (CAS) applications.

The calculator, available at indense.worldwaterworks.com, requires three inputs: maximum monthly wasting rate in gallons per day, daily hours of operation and waste activated sludge concentration in mg/L. From those parameters, it returns a recommended cyclone count and skid configuration, and includes a 3D viewer for visualizing the system footprint. Engineers can submit their results directly to World Water Works application engineers to initiate a budgetary proposal.

The WWW™ inDENSE™ system uses gravimetric sludge selection to improve the performance of existing CAS systems and clarifiers. Hydrocyclones separate mixed liquor by density, returning denser, faster-settling solids to the bioreactor while wasting the lighter fraction. The selective pressure gradually densifies the sludge population, improving sludge volume index, reducing clarifier stress and supporting enhanced biological phosphorus removal, particularly during cold weather and wet weather events that typically disrupt settling.

The calculator is available at no cost and requires no registration.
